The last strategic plan, which served as a guiding framework, was developed in 2018/9. This Ability Trust is now seeking the services of a qualified consultant to facilitate the development of a comprehensive five (5) year strategic plan and a review and enhancement of the organizations existing policies.

We envision a society in which women and girls with disabilities have access to quality dignified healthcare with their rights respected and upheld. Our model focuses on leveraging various forms of technology to increase access to dignified and equitable sexual reproductive healthcare services and information, strengthen the capacities of healthcare providers to build inclusive healthcare systems and inform policy advocacy on sexual reproductive health rights based on the lived realities of women and girls with disabilities.

For the last ten years, This Ability has worked on the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women with disabilities from different approaches, empowering women and girls with disabilities on their bodily autonomy and promoting safe spaces of discussion on sexuality. Mama Siri our toll free number services provides referral information for women with disabilities who need sexual and reproductive health information and services or are experiencing Gender based Violence.

Through our Skills eLearning platform we have been training healthcare providers on the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women with disabilities, from a disability and gender standpoint. Additionally, our annual SRHRplusD Festival builds critical mass for advocacy and accountability purposes and aligns with communities of women and girls with disabilities on our agenda for the rights of women and girls with disabilities.

Increasing the skills and capacities of healthcare providers to ensure access to quality sexual reproductive health and rights for women and girls with disabilities. Implement and oversee all aspects of the training project, including curriculum development, scheduling, and logistics.

Increasing the skills and capacities of young women with disabilities to comprehensive sexuality education. Develop a detailed project plan for the Digital Dada, comprehensive sexuality education program for young women with disabilities. Policy Brief on the Sexual Reproductive Health Rights of Women and Girls with Disabilities(Closed)

While sexual and reproductive health and rights may now be more visible on main political agendas globally, regionally and nationally, there has been less meaningful implementation regarding inclusion of women with disabilities. The reality is that women with disabilities face a myriad of challenges in relation to their sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Board of Trustees(Closed)

As a Trustee, you will be involved in several Board and Committee meetings throughout the year. Generally, the Board participates in up to 4 meetings (half day to one full day). Board meetings are held at This Ability Trust hub in Thogoto, Kikuyu and via teleconference (for up to 2 hours) from time to time. There is an expectation that you will attend and participate in all the scheduled Board meetings, and activities to represent This Ability Trust and other special meetings or attendance as necessary.

External Auditor(Closed)

We envision a society in which women and girls with disabilities live fully integrated lives socially, economically and politically, with their rights respected and upheld. We work to increase access to sexual and reproductive health rights for women and girls with disabilities in Kenya, South Sudan and The Gambia. To conduct an institutional audit for This Ability for the period January 2022 to December 2022 as per the various donor regulations in relation to the contracts available that cover the audited period. The required service of external audit will be rendered at This Ability Trust’s offices as situated in Thogoto, Kikuyu.

Project Officer (Closed)

The Project Officer (PO) will be responsible for supporting project implementation of This Ability Trust projects across the country. The PO will be a member of the Projects Team and report to the Project Manager (PM).. He/she will support the project team in managing the essential aspects of the project cycle for assigned projects including planning, implementation and monitoring of the project. Furthermore, He/she will assist the PM regarding regular updates and progress of the project, correspondence with partners on project and strategic interventions.

You should be familiar with audits, invoices and budget preparations. Our ideal candidate demonstrates interest in managing accounting activities, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Consultant to develop a training guide for Mama Siri (Closed)

The service is the first of its kind in Kenya managed by women with disabilities who understand and empathize with the experiences and challenges of their community. The service was first rolled out in the 8 counties i.e. Kilifi, Mombasa, Kwale, Nairobi, Kajiado, Kakamega, Kisumu and Uasin Gishu where This Ability Trust has active presence and coordinates a network of community based organizations through county focal points.

Provision of Dignity Kits(Closed)

The Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) project is focussed on drought affected areas. Under this project, This Ability Trust is advancing the rights of women with disabilities through distribution of hygiene kits to women and girls with disabilities of reproductive age in drought prone areas such as Kilifi, Kwale, Kajiado, Uasin Gishu, Kakamega, Kisumu and Nairobi Counties.

Quantitative Data Analysis(Closed)

The lack of data exacerbates the invisibility of women with disabilities, and for duty bearers and policymakers - it is critical to have the right data to be able to develop the right policies and budgets.
