Position: Curriculum Developer – Advocacy & Accountability Course

Background:
This Ability is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting disability-inclusive Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). This course will build skills in rights-based advocacy, civic engagement, and holding duty-bearers accountable, particularly through inclusive and community-led approaches.
Goal:
To promote inclusive and effective advocacy training by ensuring that the Advocacy and Accountability course is accessible, relevant, and responsive to the lived experiences and priorities of women with disabilities and civil society organizations (CSOs)
Objective:
To review and update the Advocacy and Accountability course content to ensure it is relevant, inclusive, and responsive to the unique needs, experiences, and priorities of women with disabilities and civil society organizations (CSOs)
Scope of Work:
- Conduct a comprehensive review of the existing Advocacy and Accountability course to assess its current relevance, inclusivity, and responsiveness to the needs of women with disabilities and civil society organizations.
- Consult with key stakeholders, including women with disabilities and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), to gather insights, lived experiences, and feedback to inform content updates.
- Revise course modules to incorporate inclusive language, intersectional perspectives, relevant case studies, and practical tools for disability-inclusive advocacy and accountability.
- Ensure the content adheres to accessibility standards and is designed to accommodate diverse learning needs through multiple formats and universal design principles.
- Ensure the curriculum is action-oriented, focusing on storytelling, lived experience, and local community challenges.
- Develop a user-friendly facilitator guide.
- Organize a validation session with key stakeholders to review revised content and integrate their feedback into the final version.
- Prepare and submit a final report detailing the review process, changes made, stakeholder inputs, and recommendations for future updates or adaptations.

Qualifications:
- Degree in Development Studies, Political Science, Human Rights, or a related field
- Post graduate qualification in the related field is an added advantage
- Proven 5 years’ experience in advocacy training curriculum design
- Knowledge of disability rights and inclusive civic participation
- Strong facilitation and writing skills
